Level: Beginner

Format: Studio-based physical skills class with mats and safe tumbling equipment

Recommended for: Young dancers ages 3–7 interested in building coordination, balance, and confidence through basic acrobatics and movement play

Course Description: Tumbling introduces young movers to the fundamentals of acrobatics in a safe, supportive environment designed for early childhood development. Through engaging, play-based activities, students will explore rolling, balancing, stretching, jumping, and basic inverted skills, all while improving strength, flexibility, and spatial awareness. The course emphasizes proper technique, safety, and body control, helping children develop a strong physical foundation for both dance and recreational movement.

Students will progress through age-appropriate skills such as forward rolls, bear crawls, log rolls, bridges, supported handstands, and basic cartwheel preparation. Each class incorporates creative games, obstacle courses, and partner exercises to encourage teamwork and confidence. In addition to physical benefits, tumbling promotes focus, listening skills, and perseverance in a fun, encouraging atmosphere.

Course Expectations: Children should come ready to move, explore, and try new skills with a positive attitude. Parents should expect gradual progression as safety and confidence are prioritized over speed of skill acquisition.

Assessment Methods: Observation-based skill tracking, individual goal achievement, and demonstration of safe technique during class activities.

Attendance Requirement: Consistent participation is important to build skill retention and strength safely.

Course Attire: NB T-shirt and black leggings/shorts

Notes: Tumbling develops essential motor skills that support future dance, gymnastics, and athletic activities, making it an excellent foundation for lifelong movement confidence.
