Course Description: Rising Stars Ballet is a beginner-level class designed to introduce young dancers (ages 6–8) to the foundational principles of ballet in a supportive and engaging environment. This class emphasizes proper posture, basic alignment, and introductory ballet positions while fostering a love for movement and music. Through structured exercises, creative movement activities, and simple barre and center work, students will begin developing coordination, flexibility, and strength. Special attention will be given to musicality, spatial awareness, and basic classroom etiquette, helping students understand the discipline and joy of ballet.
By the end of Rising Stars Ballet, students will demonstrate an understanding of foundational ballet terminology, develop confidence in their movement, and show improved balance, rhythm, and body awareness. They will also gain experience in structured class participation, preparing them for more advanced levels of training. This class serves as an essential stepping stone for young dancers interested in continued ballet study and future performance opportunities.A multi-genre class combining Ballet, Hip Hop, and Cultural Dance components. Students refine posture, alignment, and basic technical skills while expanding musicality, creativity, and performance confidence. Ballet develops grace and coordination; Hip Hop builds rhythm, style, and energy; Cultural Dance introduces students to global movement traditions. Prepares students for Junior Division study while keeping learning fun and engaging.
The Cultural Component is an engaging and exploratory class designed for young dancers (ages 6–8) to experience the richness of global dance traditions. This class introduces students to a variety of dance styles and rhythms influenced by African, Latin, and other multicultural movement practices. Through rhythmic exercises, storytelling, and dynamic movement activities, students will begin to understand how dance reflects different cultures, histories, and traditions. Emphasis will be placed on musicality, coordination, and expressive movement, encouraging students to develop both technical skills and an appreciation for diverse artistic forms.
By the end of The Cultural Component, students will have gained a foundational understanding of different dance traditions from around the world, fostering curiosity, cultural awareness, and confidence in movement. They will also develop important social interaction skills through group exercises, collaborative movement games, and shared dance experiences. This class provides an exciting and inclusive environment where young dancers can explore the joy of movement while broadening their understanding of global cultures.
Rising Stars Hip Hop is an exciting and high-energy class designed to introduce young dancers (ages 6–8) to the fundamentals of hip hop dance. This class focuses on building coordination, rhythm, and confidence through age-appropriate street dance movements, fun grooves, and engaging musical exercises. Students will explore basic hip hop foundations such as bouncing, isolations, and dynamic footwork, all while developing their sense of musicality and expressive movement. Through interactive games and choreography, young dancers will learn how to move with style, creativity, and a strong connection to the beat.
By the end of Rising Stars Hip Hop, students will demonstrate improved coordination, increased stamina, and the ability to execute simple hip hop combinations with energy and confidence. They will develop an understanding of rhythm, spatial awareness, and teamwork while cultivating a positive and playful approach to movement. This class fosters an encouraging and supportive environment where young dancers can freely express themselves and build a foundation for future hip hop training.
Course Expectations: Full engagement in all three genres, attention to instructor guidance, and active participation in exercises and choreography.
Assessment Methods: Observation of technical execution, participation, and informal performance demonstrations.
Attendance Requirement: Consistent attendance supports skill progression and group cohesion.
