Kevin Young

Kevin Young is a choreographer, arts educator, and youth mentor with more than 17 years of experience developing dancers, leaders, and confident young people through the performing arts. As the founder and director of Sapphire Dance Line, Kevin specializes in HBCU-inspired Hip Hop Majorette, blending technical excellence with performance, discipline, and personal growth.

Throughout his career, Kevin has taught and choreographed for schools, community centers, youth organizations, and competitive dance programs across New York. His work has been featured on national stages, including performances connected to the Super Bowl, and his impact in the performing arts led to his invitation to represent his work surrounding the 87th Academy Awards for the Oscar-winning film Birdman.

More than teaching choreography, Kevin believes dance is a powerful tool for building confidence, accountability, leadership, and resilience. Every class is designed to challenge dancers, inspire creativity, and help students discover their potential both on and off the floor.

His philosophy is simple:
